Statice

Back to Flowers

Statice is a flower that is usually used in conjunction with other flowers to create colourful flower arrangements and bouquets. On each stem, there are a number of tightly-clustered, crispy blooms. The stem itself is quite unusual in that it has a wafered texture as opposed to being smooth to the touch. Generally, statice is quite sturdy and if maintained properly, they can keep their overall appearance for over a week.

The most popular colour of statice is dark purple. Purple statice is generally available throughout the year. In addition to dark purple, one can also obtain light yellow and white statice when available from suppliers.

Statice is not often used in bridal and bridesmaids bouquets perhaps due to its ruffled look or the fact that other elegant flowers can be used to provide the same or similar colour in the bouquets. However, one or two blooms can be detached from the stem to create nice boutonnieres and corsages.

Power Flowers attempts to maintain a stock of purple statice throughout the year. When the light yellow or white statice is available, we include them in different flower arrangements and bouquets.
